Lucy's background lies in Psychology, with many years experience working in the field of addiction and mental health. Her particular expertise include:

  Health Psychology
  Dual Diagnosis
    (concurrent mental health and addiction issues)

Lucy graduated from The University of Aberdeen in 2000 with an M.A. Honours in Psychology and completed further study in 2006 with a Masters in Health Psychology (with Merit) from the University of Westminster. She also has a Certificate in CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and a Diploma in Practitioner Skills for Eating Disorders. She is currently a member of the IAAAC (Irish Association of Alcohol and Addiction Counselling) and has been since 2007.

 
She has a particular interest in helping people understand the emotional and psychological issues that people face in their everyday lives. Through her academic study, and the work experience that she has undertaken with challenging client groups, Lucy has developed the clinical skills in working effectively to help people overcome difficulties which they may face.
 

Since 2004 Lucy has worked in the field of counselling, working specifically with individuals with addiction issues (alcohol, cocaine, heroin, sex, food and gambling), and with those suffering from severe and enduring mental health issues (depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, schizophrenia, eating disorders, self-harm, and bipolar disorder.)
